Why Lumora Tutors?

I’m Tanzeel, founder of Lumora Tutors, born out of my original tutoring platform, Tutor4All. We've supported over 100 students in reaching their full academic potential while building lasting confidence and self-belief.

We all know teachers vary in quality, but occasionally, there's one who ignites a passion for learning and sees beyond our grades—a true mentor.

School wasn’t always easy for me.

I felt misunderstood, constantly falling behind, and honestly… I dreaded lessons. My favourite time of day? Break and lunch — just to escape the classroom. It felt like I was destined to fail.

Year 9 marked a turning point for me thanks to Miss Molyneux, my inspiring science teacher. She ignited a passion for learning that went beyond acing exams, making science exciting and understandable.

My newfound love for learning spilled into all subjects, boosting my grades significantly. Her influence was profound; I went from dreading school to excelling with A/A* grades in GCSEs and A-levels, paving my way to medical school.

That’s the power of a mentor.

In college, I started tutoring with a passion to mentor, not just teach. Understanding my students' goals, learning preferences, and motivations led to their success and sparked a surge in referrals. Overwhelmed, I embraced the challenge instead of turning them away.
